Tiny Art, Big Plans
An improv performance, art trading cards, and more
Hello beautiful people,
I’ve done lots of creating this week, along with listening to audiobooks, finishing my third Uketsu book (I think I have an addiction), and attempting to hand-feed squirrels (no luck lately, though I have done it before). I also got to see several friends and call with more of my long-distance buds, which is always a pleasure. It’s been a jam-packed fortnight, with not much time spent playing Fortnite, so I have lots to share.
In my last post, I mentioned buying lots of art supplies, arguably too many, including the materials to make ACEOs (Art Cards, Editions, and Originals). My goal for these tiny cards is to make a bunch of them and auction them off on eBay. It is a good way for me to practice using new techniques and mediums, while getting my name out there and making a little bit of money to feed into my problem of buying more art supplies (it’s an endless cycle). Hopefully, it will go well. I also finished another ink drawing in my sketchbook from Korea of a car I saw in Japan. This is the first car I’ve ever drawn, and despite my errors, it was quite fun!

I’ve grown fond of working in cafes lately. I’ve always been the kind of person who becomes more productive in libraries and spaces outside my home for homework and writing, but I’ve grown to love cafes for drawing the most.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I really enjoy eavesdropping on people in cafes. It’s a crazy and somewhat taboo take to put out here, but I mean, who doesn’t? There’s something so intriguing about getting such a small glimpse of someone by overhearing a conversation.
It’s also nice to receive praise from someone interested in my art. Not that it actually happened, but I did catch some people peeking. Besides, who knows, maybe it will lead to a sale or a commission? Or meeting a new friend or a cute boy… It’s good to get yourself out there. Surely it can’t hurt.

I know I post a lot about visual art on here, but comedy and improv are a big part of my life.
I realized that I never showed the link to my RIT performance with my improv group, Klick’s Kitchen. I truly love performing with these guys. Each person brings something different to the table in the best way possible. They have taught me so much about improv and different forms. We have even created some of our own forms together. I am excited to keep growing with them and having fun.

If you are interested in watching our set, you can find it here:
It also goes without saying that there are many sets in this video of other performers. They are worth watching, and many of the groups are quite good. I want to give credit where credit is due; the RIT alumni group, plus all of the duo performances, were exceptional if you have time to skim through.
I usually leave you with just one batch of photos at the end of my newsletters, but I have so many food pictures from recent days that I've split them into two. I love sharing meals with others. It is one of the greatest joys in life, or at least mine anyway. Hopefully, you won’t get too hungry looking at them. I know I am.

And here are my other pictures. Not mouth-wateringly yummy food pictures, unless you happen to be a very hungry lion. Most of them are outside because the weather is finally tolerable. Hopefully, all of you can and will take advantage of such great weather.

With love,
Zoz <3

I love seeing your photos! The food, the scenery - very nice!
